Hello dear ones,

Every month seems more full of wonder than the previous month... October came and went, beginning with a class on solo sexual magic, and ending with a beautiful ritual on Hallowe'en itself with my local pagan group.

Listening to the Ancestors, gathering the strength of the land, remembering our mortality. From the earth we come, & to the earth we shall return, but not today.

This month I'm a little late sending you a note as I was teaching at the very first WorldWide WitchCamp - a long weekend intensive of magic within the Reclaiming Tradition of Witchcraft.

I've been going to WitchCamps since I turned 18 and they really do change your life.

This Camp was online! With campers from across the globe, classes spanning different timezones, and we worked and danced and wove magic with the story of the Star Goddess - the Feri Creation myth which Starhawk shared in "The Spiral Dance" all those years ago.

Though we're spread across the globe, magic transcends location. It goes beyond the reach of our hands and touches hearts all around the world.

We are magic, beings of earth and spirit, part of the web of magic that holds us all.

So when we open our minds to that connection using the audio, video, and text of technology, we remember what we've always, deep down, known: we are all connected.

One beautiful question posed by the invocation of Spirit in one of the rituals was the question of how we, as magical beings, as folk who work with spirits, can work with the spirits of the metal and crystal of the technology that can connect us, or keep us apart?

And it reminded me that we get to choose.

We can often feel helpless when we see how big the world is, the terrible things happening, when we fall into doomscrolling, when we find ourselves far away from our loved ones.

But this is only one story.

This question said to me:

"You work with spirits - these are spirits - work with them. Weave a new story."

So I invite you, as an act of magic, to remember one way in which the spirits of technology allowed you to connect, to learn good things, to be curious and loving and human together.

We get to weave magic with the stories we tell.
